Details: HES 8300 Series Electric Strike w/ Satin Stainless Steel Finish

The HES 8300 series is a fire rated, compact, high performance electric strike featuring a unique concealed design for use with cylindrical locksets. No cutting on the frame is required. Simply remove the existing strike plate, adjust the vertical alignment feature to the latchbolt centerline and install. Its strength is derived from a unique keeper pin locking design, enabling the 8300 to exceed the ratings of the frame, door and locking hardware. This unique electric strike is easy to install and complies with NFPA 80-07 guidelines for retrofit into fire-rated frames. The 8300 accommodates latchbolts up to 5/8" throw.

HES and Folger Adam electric strikes are designed to be installed in accordance with the ANSI/BHMA A156.31 4-7/8" jam preparation.

When accommodating a cylindrical lock, the electric strike is to be installed centerline to centerline.

When accommodating a mortise lock, the centerline of the electric strike is to be installed 3/8" above the centerline of the mortise lock, except asnoted for individual strikes. Folger Adam 712 series and 310 series will need special alignment with used with a mortise lock.

HES electric strikes are all non-handed and designed for installation in hollow metal, concrete filled metal, aluminum and wood jambs.

Assess the type of frame and health of the opening

Material: hollow metal, aluminum or wood?
Adams Rite offers electric strikes for aluminum, hollow metal or wood doors. Please see the Adams Rite catalog to order the compatible model for your door application.
Type: hollow or concrete-filled? Concrete-filled may require additional tools. Consider using no-cut electric strikes.
Health of door and frame: can frame or door irregularities be fixed prior to electric strike installation?
